I have to admit, I'm rarely really disgusted with
people. I expect people to be dumb and and am hardly ever disappointed.
This time I have to say that not only am I disgusted, but but am truly outraged.
I've may have never served in the military but I believe deeply in the honor,
courage and service of those who have been and who are in our military.
But there are people, living right here in the US, that I must question their
patriotism and honor.
I was pulled aside this week by an old marine. He told
me what was going on in Berkeley California. The city console voted
to denounce our United States Marines. They voted to allow a group
of sissies and pansies to protest outside of the Marine recruiting facility
within their city. This group is called "Code Pink". You can infer a
lot from their name.

Berkeley City Council Condemns Our Soldiers
You
may not be aware of the situation in Berkeley, California. The
mainstream media has not been reporting on it. Here is the situation.
The Berkeley City Council has told the Marine Recruiting Office to get
out of Berkeley.
Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina has put together a video that shows
you explicitly what the City Council members of Berkeley said about our
Marines and the effort to force the recruiters to leave the city. They
include comments from the Mayor who says that the Marines "don't belong
here in Berkeley."
These people aren't just against the war, they are against our
soldiers who are fighting and dying in that war.
The video also includes rebuttal by veterans of this nation who are
outraged by the conduct of this city council. I hope you will send the
letter and forward it to friends and family. The letters will go
straight to the Mayor and City Council members.
Read the letter from Debbie Lee, whose son was killed in action.
Read the statement from U.S. Senators DeMint, Cornyn, Vitter,
Coburn, Inhofe, and Chambliss.

This letter was sent to me by T.G. It is a copy of the letter he
sent to the mayor of the City of Berkely.
Dear Mayor Bates
I recently heard and then
subsequently read about the City’s resolution stating
that the Marine Corps recruiting
station "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay,
they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."
Obviously I am not a resident of
your City and I clearly understand that you are not concerned about
“uninvited / unwelcome intruders” comments; however I will tell you I find
you City’s decision disgraceful.
Secondly as you may already
guessed, I have had privilege to serve our Country as a US Marine;
remaining “always faithful” I would like you know that I will do my small
part to impact your City.
In December of this year I was
organizing a trip to Napa Valley and San Francisco. We (8 couples) had
planned to stay at the Claremont – this Marine will make sure that his
money (and others that I can influence) is spent where Marines and other
US Service personnel are welcome!
Finally I have copied the
Claremont so they are aware that they are being impacted by the City’s
resolution.

I have to agree with Mr. T.G. If you have any business dealing
within the city of Berkeley California, if you plan to visit there, if you
plan to drive through there - don't. Don't even buy gas there.
We are Americans. We support our troops. We support the job
that must be done for the security of our country. There are things
that are difficult. There are things that as Americans we would
rather not do. But these things must be done. How dare these
people insult our troops, our sons, our daughters, our fathers, mothers,
nephews and nieces?
I raise my trailer park finger to the lot of them.
I've pondered this same question many times. Why would
God smile on me in such a way? I see all those people living in the
"burbs"
and wonder what did they do wrong?
I've come to the conclusion that God just chose to bless some
and not others. And I've no idea why. Why do we live in the US
and others ended up being born French. Certainly it's not because as
babies they did something wrong. God just made them French.
These questions are some of the imponderables of life.
The best I can say is: Just thank God everyday for having
blessed you. Thank him for not having to live in the city or the burbs and
truly, truly thank him you weren't born French - or worse yet, you could have
been born in Berkeley.
To: Chris - Thanks for the pictures.
But I'm married. - almost 27 years now.
To: Capt'n Seemore - uh... that ain't a
good thing. You could get arrested for that. Maybe not in my
trailer park but certainly other places.
To: Faithful - Yup. That's how babies are
made. You didn't know that? Jeeze! You're in high school!
Graduate and raise the little trailer park dude.
To: Puppy Love - Locking lips can be fun.
Just not with your dad.
To: Turning Blue - Find a woman your own age.
Then maybe you feel better.
High school chicks are a bit young for you. Wait till
they're 18 and you can stay out of jail.
To: Hustler - Nope. Don't believe you.
You can't get one woman to do that let alone three.
